Protective Vests and Helmets for Magen David Adom Teams

Magen David Adom is currently operating amid a large-scale military campaign. The organization is operating at full emergency capacity, providing life-saving medical aid at impact sites under fire while also maintaining routine emergency services across the country.

Around 35,000 MDA volunteers and 3,200 staff members are deployed nationwide, supported by approximately 2,400 emergency vehicles. They operate 24/7 and, even under normal circumstances, dispatch an average of every 22 seconds to save lives.
Each day of combat costs MDA approximately ₪3 million, covering trauma equipment, protective gear, logistics, fuel, and personnel. Costs that must not hinder the ability to save lives.
MDA’s national infrastructure, primarily funded through donations, enables a professional response to emergency and wartime situations. However, MDA does not receive a dedicated emergency budget, and government support makes up only about 12% of its overall budget. As a result, its ability to sustain operations during ongoing conflict relies on partnerships with organizations and individuals committed to the resilience of Israeli society.
MDA teams are required to enter non-sterile, high-risk environments, often under ongoing threat, and therefore need professional protective equipment. Due to the intensity of these situations, MDA must expand its teams nationwide, especially in the northern region. As a result, we are committed to equipping additional teams with essential protective gear so they can carry out life-saving operations without risking their own lives. The lack of proper personal protection endangers teams and limits their ability to operate in active combat zones.
MDA is advancing a critical project to procure 1,500 advanced ballistic protective vests, including front and back ceramic plates, as well as advanced protective helmets.
At this stage, we have secured 50% of the required funding for the protective vests, and we still need 750 additional units of vests and helmets. We invite you to join us and help fund one or more protective units so they can be deployed immediately to reinforce teams in the field.
