Magen David Adom recently hosted a specialized professional conference for EMTs and senior EMTs serving as ambulance team leaders
The conference focused on enriching EMTs' knowledge in medical and technological fields, including VR and AI applications, to drive excellence in emergency medical response.
Distinguished speakers included MDA Community Deputy Director Prof. Eli Jaffe who presented on MDA's post-war operations, MDA Medical Deputy Director Dr. Rafael Strugo who discussed the future of pre-hospital emergency medicine in Israel, and MDA Paramedic School Director Dr. Shafir Botner who lectured on analyzing real cases using AI-integrated interactive learning. Amir Rosenzweig, CEO of ARVR Israel, shared innovations in emergency medicine training using virtual reality.
The evening featured a special interview by Channel 12 and IDF Radio reporter Adar Gitzis with Oren Smadja, Israeli men's judo team coach, World Championship silver medalist and Olympic bronze medalist, and father of the late Staff Sergeant Omer Smadja, who was an MDA volunteer who fell in combat in central Gaza.
Attendees experienced specialized medical technologies and emergency vehicles, participated in an QCPR competition, practiced with VR stations, and toured MDA's National Dispatch Center and Blood Services Center.
