A Smart AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) Station, donated to Magen David Adom in Majdal Shams by Cross River.
Cross River's ongoing support for Magen David Adom (MDA), in collaboration with the Israeli Friends of MDA Association has contributed to the positioning of hundreds of defibrillators in synagogues across Jerusalem, along with dozens of smart AED stations nationwide, which enables an immediate response to cardiac arrest cases in public areas.
Following the rocket attack at the soccer field in Majdal Shams at the end of July 2024, killing 12 children, Cross River’s management decided to place a smart AED station in Majdal Shams to help save lives.
A delegation from Cross River visited the town to support the residents, and Cross River’s CEO, Mr. Gilles Gade, pledged to continue embracing, strengthening, and supporting the people of Majdal Shams.
On behalf of the residents of Majdal Shams and the people of Israel, we wish to extend our deepest gratitude and appreciation to Cross River for becoming our partners in saving lives.
February 24th is National Defibrillator Day!
This day is intended to raise awareness to the importance and use of defibrillators.
Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) are life-saving devices which administer an electrical shock to the heart in cases of cardiac arrest, increasing survival rates to 60%.
Join Magen David Adom (MDA) teams and learn how to save lives using a defibrillator with no need for prior medical knowledge or training.
During National Defibrillator Day MDA teams will be spread across the country, teaching the public vital life-saving skills, including how to:
1. Recognize a cardiac arrest
2. Call MDA's emergency hotline (101)
3. Locate the nearest AED
4. Effectively and safely use an AED
