Become our partners in saving lives by supporting the Eli Medical Team!
The Medical volunteers in the Eli settlement work tirelessly, day and night, including Shabat and holidays, responding to every emergency call in the settlement and the surrounding area.
Eli is located at a distance of 45 minutes from the nearest hospital and the settlement's population is constantly growing. Over the past few years, we've witnessed dozens of cases where we strived to provide the best medical emergency care possible, but not everything depended on us. Without the proper medical equipment we are not able to provide the urgently needed emergency care and save lives.
Join us and become our partners in saving lives! Your donation will help acquire the advanced and professional medical equipment needed for the Eli medical team of volunteers to provide the best emergency medical aid needed in the settlement and the surrounding area.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise funds for the purchase of monitors and smart AED (automated external defibrillator) cabinets, equipment which will upgrade significantly the professional emergency care in the area provided by the volunteers of the Eli medical team.
Located in the Binyamin region, Eli settlement is a home of around 1000 families, with a current population of 4000 residents and growing.
The settlement has a large professional medical team which includes paramedics, medics and first aid responders, and we have 2 fully equipped ambulances at our disposal. Needless to say, they are all volunteers. The Medical volunteers in the Eli settlement work tirelessly, day and night, including Shabat and holidays, responding to every emergency call in the settlement and the surrounding area.
Dozens of traffic accidents occur annually on the main road leading to the Eli settlement, where the distance to the nearest hospital is over 45 minutes away and the regional mobile intensive care unit (MICU) is far and often unavailable. Over the past few years we have witnessed numerous cases where the emergency team could have provided better life-saving medical aid with the help of the appropriate equipment.
Fortunately, the Eli settlement is constantly growing and naturally developing, unfortunately the number of medical incidents is also increasing.
Fifteen years ago the American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA) donated a monitor, which was used to equip the ambulance in Eli. During the past year, this monitor was out of use due to obsolescence.
By striving to provide the best medical emergency professional care possible we have decided to actively fundraise, with the goal of purchasing smart AED (automated external defibrillator) cabinets and place them in strategic locations around the Eli settlement, and in addition, equip our ambulance with a new monitor.
The monitor is critically important in identifying and treating various cardiac and respiratory emergencies such as cardiac arrest, heart and respiratory failures, by monitoring ECG, administering electric shock, etc. This, together with the help of our talented paramedics, will upgrade our BLS (basic life support) ambulance almost to the level of a Mobile Intensive Care unit (MICU), which is often far from the settlement. The use of such advanced equipment proved to be a lifesaver! Every minute counts!
Your contribution will save lives by enabling us to purchase the monitor and other advanced medical care equipment, thus upgrading significally our emergency aid capabilities. With your help we'll also be able to place smart AED cabinets throughout the settlement and the surrounding area which will be accessible to the public.
Last year, unfortunately, we've reached a large number of difficult cases in Eli and the surrounding area, some of which you've probably heard of. This equipment would have been a significant advantage, making a crucial difference in the outcome of patients.
Join us! Team up with your friends and families for this noble cause. Become our partners in saving lives!
