The Sergeant Adi Gruman, may she rest in peace, fell in battle on the Black Sabbath of 7/10/23. Adi served as a combat collection fighter in the 414th Battalion of the Border Protection Corps and served at the Urim base. On that cursed Sabbath, she was on duty at the base, and along with her friends, she was called to the battalion to rescue soldiers of her command at the neighboring base. They fought against about 15 terrorists who infiltrated the headquarters' base. During the battle, when the commanders asked for volunteers to penetrate the compound where the terrorists had barricaded themselves with some of the headquarters' soldiers, Adi volunteered first to storm. She did not hesitate and ran forward in front of the gunfire to save the lives of others. Adi's family seeks to perpetuate her memory and contribute to the elevation of her soul by saving the lives of many others through the purchase of an additional ambulance for Magen David Adom. Please donate, each according to their ability, to save lives in medical emergency situations and for the elevation of Adi's soul by donating to Magen David Adom for the purchase of an ambulance that will bear Adi's name. Adi was a charming, smiling, and kind-hearted girl. She grew up in the village of Hogla in Emek Hafer, studied at the "Yuval" and "Shachar Me'in" schools. She really liked studying history at school. She also loved music, she sang and danced at every opportunity. Adi permeated around her a smiling and happy atmosphere, and wherever she was, she brought a lot of light.
When she stood before enlistment, it was clear to her that she wanted to be a fighter. She wanted to serve meaningful service and contribute to the country. She went through a difficult eight-month training course, which was both physically and mentally challenging, and at the end of it, she became a combat collection fighter. Throughout the training, she was considered in the battalion to be a dedicated, committed soldier who gave her all to every task. Her friends said that she always helped everyone and always took care of everyone before taking care of herself. Her commanders knew that whatever task Adi was required to perform, she would perform it to the best of her ability.
On that Black Saturday of October 7, her commanding officer asked her to go out to the base where the terrorists had infiltrated because, according to her, "she wanted the best fighter in the battalion by her side." Adi charged along with her teammates; they fought for about an hour and a half. During the fighting, one of the commanders asked two female fighters to run with him into the compound where the terrorists were barricaded. Adi volunteered to attack first. In the exchange of fire, Adi was hit by a shot from one of the terrorists and sustained human wounds; her death was pronounced shortly after.
