Sergeant Itamar Shemen, 21 years old from Lapid, served as a soldier and paramedic in the IDF and fell in battle in the southern Gaza Strip on Saturday, December 23rd 2023.
The late Itamar enlisted in the military paramedic program, volunteering at Magen David Adom's mobile intensive care unit, as part of his training. After receiving his paramedic qualifications, he became an MDA paramedic volunteer. Itamar's family chose to commemorate his legacy by donating two defibrillators - life-saving resuscitation devices.
In case of cardiac arrest, the device performs resuscitation by administering an automatic electric shock. The availability of a defibrillator will increase the patient's chances of survival from 3% to over 60% and more, and will significantly minimize the patient's exposure to irreversible brain damage.
Help us commemorate Itamar's legacy by donating defibrillators in his memory!
