The late Alina was a graduate of the Alliance School in Haifa. She chose to enlist in the combat track, was a combat commander at the extraction and rescue unit of the Home Front Command, then took an officers' course and served in various positions both in the field and at the headquarters. She also volunteered for 4 years as part of an MDA ambulance team in Haifa, and aspired to be a doctor.
Alina was born in Israel but her family immigrated to Israel from Russia and Ukraine in the late 90's. She was the daughter of Olga and Michael, and an eldest sister of a 15-year-old brother, Alina focused on continuing with the IDF combat program by signing a contract to work at the army after her mandatory service until 2027.
Alina was the officer on duty during that accursed Saturday. On Saturday morning, Alina and the team under her command, fought valiantly against the terrorist squad at the Orim base; Alina fired at and shot the terrorists who targeted them in the war room. At one point, the terrorists threw a grenade into the war room, trying to enter, which caused the death of the soldiers in it, including Alina, who was killed, while protecting heroically her female soldiers. Two of the female soldiers in the war room were injured but managed to escape and told their story.
Emily Mosch, Alina's childhood friend, says: "Alina was the most special red-haired girl there is. A true friend, an excellent student, there is nothing bad to say about her. She always aspired as high as possible. Everyone who knew her loved her instantaneously. She was always smiling, always happy, a girl with pure and good intentions, in her eyes you could see all the good in the world. She always welcomed everyone with warmth and understanding and fought for justice till the end, only now the words ' till the end' have taken on a new Words aren't enough to describe the magnitude of the pain and sorrow. We will always remember her with the most beautiful smile and her angelic face."
Alina's family and friends wish to commemorate her and her heroism by purchasing an ambulance for Magen David Adom.
