In response to the threats facing Israel and the insights from the events of October 7^th, Magen David Adom is training community-based emergency response teams that will provide a wide range of immediate emergency assistance to local communities in cases of extreme scenarios. " Magen Project" (or Community Shield in Hebrew) is designed to address the potential of future sieges due to prolonged combat and isolations, that could delay the arrival of lifesaving care.

Our goal is to establish medical emergency teams in each community to save as many lives as possible in the shortest possible time.
Currently MDA is focusing on the 400 communities in the areas where the threat is most imminent. The total cost of the project is 100,000,000 NIS including:

• Donation of 600 NIS for protective gear (vest, helmet) for the volunteers – in need of 10,000 units
• Donation of 8,000 NIS for training of the community-based emergency response teams- in need of 400 training workshops 
• Donation of 6,500 NIS for emergency first responder live saving kit- in need of 5,000 kits
• Donation of 60,000 NIS for a mobile field clinic -in need of 300 clinics
• Donation of 200,000 NIS for a community emergency vehicle -in need of 200 vehicles
