Corporal Nick Beiser was born and raised in Be'er Sheva. He began his studies at Makif Rager high school and graduated from the Amal Kamag high school. Nick served at the IDF Coordination and Liaison base in the Gaza Envelope. He left behind grieving parents and a sister. He was only 19 years old when he fell.
Nick's family shares:
At the age of 12, he joined the Bowling Association, where he was a buddy player for children with special needs. Nick would always come back and tell us how important and
meaningful his volunteer work was for him.
At every stage of his life, Nick was surrounded by many friends and family; these connections were always the most important thing for him. Nick was a happy and optimistic person, with a constant smile on his face who always put the needs of others before his own. He never left anyone alone and always knew how to encourage, listen, and hug when needed. He was a ray of light making simple moments become unforgettable for everyone around him.
On October 7th, Nick was at his army base when it was attacked by the terrorists. That morning, he called his sister and tried to reassure her by promising her that there is nothing to worry about and that everything would be alright. Later, we discovered that he took his weapon, told his friends to hide, and tried to fight. Unfortunately, he was overpowered, and that same evening we learned that he had been kidnapped to Gaza.
Approximately two months later, on November 10, 2023, he was murdered in captivity, and his body was returned to Israel. When his sister Nicole began volunteering for Magen David Adom, Nick promised her that when he finishes his military service, he would also join MDA as a paramedic and an ambulance driver. This why it is so important for us to commemorate Nick by following his and his sister's path of helping people and saving lives.
