The Magen David Adom (MDA) Women's Circle has set a goal to increase the number of MDA paramedics by raising scholarships for 50 additional paramedics by the end of 2025.
When our lives are in their hands, we want the best!
MDA paramedics are the spearhead of emergency medicine in Israel. They are the most senior medical personnel in the field and are required to make life-and-death decisions within seconds.
Paramedics perform complex, life-saving surgical procedures that medics are not authorized to perform, such as intubation (inserting a tube into the windpipe), chest tube insertion, artificial respiration, administering medications, and more.
Today, paramedics are part of the emergency team of the intensive care units and are dispatched only to complex emergencies.
Increasing the number of paramedics at MDA will ensure a high availability of teams with advanced medical training in all rescue vehicles which will dramatically improve the quality of emergency medical care provided in the field.
MDA aims to train approximately 600 paramedics annually to provide us with professional and advanced care in real time.
MDA always strives for excellence, leading the National Emergency Rescue system for the last 95 years, even though it is not included in the budget of the State of Israel. This is why we need your support and cooperation.
Help us raise funds for scholarships for paramedics' training! This is an extraordinary opportunity which will directly impact emergency medicine in Israel and save many lives.
