Giving Strength to Those Who Save Lives

In a small and special place on Ben Tzvi Street 33 in Beit Shemesh, you will find the home of the MDA Beit Shemesh volunteers.
Within the walls of this station, the “Kobi’s Sweets” project was born in memory of Kobi Akresh z”l, a senior paramedic at MDA Beit Shemesh. This initiative was created out of love, appreciation, and gratitude, for those who devote their time, energy, and hearts to saving lives 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Between emergency calls, difficult rescues, and exhausting shifts, MDA’s rescue teams can enjoy sweet and savory baked goods, slices and lemonade during the summer months, hot soup on winter evenings, and special Shabbat and holiday treats. This lounge provides them with  a place of rest, comfort and renewal, where staff and volunteers can recharge physically and emotionally before returning to the field and continuing their sacred mission of saving lives.
For many volunteers, “Kobi’s Sweets” is much more than a refreshment corner. It is symbol of gratitude and recognition for the dedicated men and women of the MDA Beit Shemesh station, who work tirelessly around the clock to save lives.
